Moments in life can either be memorable or not, can be good or bad and can be precious or not, but what matter most the lessons learned and the fond memories to remember for a lifetime.
When I was on my secondary school years, I have a lot of precious moments to remember. It was a humid afternoon when I got passed by in a carnival here in our place. As I went along I passed a figurine vendor offering her products to me. At first I am so hesitant to buy her product at an affordable price. But it did not matter to me at that moment because that day it was my mothers birthday and I don’t have any birthday present for her.
I broke my piggy bank savings hoping that it can reached the amount for that product ( a figurine), and I was so lucky that I earned a money enough to buy that certain vase figurine. So I got so excited to buy that product for my gift to her. It was wrapped in an old newspaper because I got short to buy a wrapper for it. I held it at my bare hands trying to hide it from her. I run fast across the street going to our house. When I got home I shouted on her and said, “ Mama, happy birthday!”,with a birthday girl figurine to her hoping she would like it. With teary eyes my mother accepted the gift and hugged me tightly. And I was so happy at that time because that was the first time I have seen her so surprised and cant believed that I have given her a birthday present.
It was a really a memorable one because I felt being appreciated by my dear mom and made her day so happy on her birthday with my own little ways making a smile on her face that I will not forget and precious moment to remember.
Wherever she now, I know depth in her heart and in my heart, we won’t forget. Despite that GOD ALMIGHTY have her already, she will always remains in my heart and in m mind till the last breathe of my journey in this borrowed life here on earth.
